Staying safe on Pulse

Meeting someone new

Pulse does not run background checks and does not verify hosts, routes, or safety claims. Treat a first meetup like meeting any stranger:

• Meet in public the first time, and stay in public. Choose a busy trailhead, park, gym, or track over a private address.
• Tell someone where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be back.
• Arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want.
• Trust your gut and leave. You never owe anyone an explanation, and you can block them afterward.
• Keep plans on Pulse until you are comfortable, so reports stay tied to the activity and the account.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number first. Pulse is not an emergency service.

Report from the app

The fastest way to report someone is in the Pulse app, where we can tie the report to the exact profile, activity, or message:

• A person: open their profile, tap the … menu, then Report.
• An activity: open the activity, tap the … menu, then Report activity.
• A message: press and hold the message, then Report.

You can also Block anyone from their profile to stop all contact immediately.
