Weather forecasts

Forecasts on activity pages come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, MET Norway, through their Locationforecast API. The data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.

We change it before showing it. MET publishes a detailed set of weather symbols, which we group into a short list of conditions such as light rain or partly cloudy. We round temperature to whole degrees and convert it to Fahrenheit for anyone using imperial units. We show one forecast, for the hour an activity starts, rather than the full timeseries MET returns.

MET Norway does not endorse Pulse or the way we present their data.

Strava

Highlights on profiles and routes attached to activities come from Strava, read through the Strava API with each athlete’s authorization. Each links back to the activity or route on Strava with “View on Strava”, and the app shows the “Powered by Strava” mark beside Strava routes and the lists you pick activities and routes from. Pulse is compatible with Strava; Strava does not endorse Pulse.
