How friending works and what it unlocks.

Friendships on Pulse are mutual, not follows. Tap Add friend on a profile, they accept, and you are friends. If you both send requests at the same time, it accepts on its own.

Direct messages without a message request.
Friends-only activities, and invites to invite-only ones.
Each other’s hosted and joined activity lists.
A notification when a friend posts an activity, if you keep that toggle on.
Pokes. After you poke, it is their turn.
